1 Water Fun

It’s summer and hot. Inflatable water slides are all the rage these days so why not set up a water slide in your back yard, park, recreation centre, child care or holiday play centre. Children never seem to tire of climbing the stairs and scrambling down the soft slides into a pool of water. Checklist for Hiring Amusement Devices

Hiring an Amusement Device Checklist

Whether you hire with us or not, Bubbling With Energy (BWE) want to make your amusement device hires as safe as possible. Here is an Amusement Hire Checklist. It will help you decide if you are using an appropriate and reputable company for your event. Furthermore, this is a generic list only, prepared from our extensive experience.

Also, for more information you can access further details via this amusement devices link to SafeWork. They are the government agency responsible for safety in NSW.

Our Amusement Device Checklist is applicable to hiring of inflatable jumping castles or inflatable obstacle courses. It is for where you will supervise the device yourself (allowed for smaller devices), or use a trained supervisor.

Amusement Device Checklist

Please ensure that:

  1. is a reputable amusement hire firm being used? Check that they have an ABN, public liability insurance?
  2. you have received notice of your booking, and an invoice?
  3. is the company an AM-SAFE Credentialed Operator. For instance BWE has been accredited under the AM-SAFE Safety Support Program. It means we are The Industry peak body, Australian Amusement Leisure and Recreation Association Inc.(AALARA), as a compliant provider of amusement, leisure and recreation services. This is in accordance with the Best Practice standards, established as being most appropriate to ensure that businesses provide at all times, the best possible management, operation and duty of care to their clients, guests and staff.
  4. the amusement device provider supplied instructions on proper operation of the device. For example, if you are not using a BWE supervisor in your jumping castle hire, on booking we give you access to a safety video. The video details how to monitor/supervise the inflatable to ensure your users are safe. BWE ground crew will still deliver and install the inflatable;
  5. does the device fit the allocated area? Do, check that it is free of overhead power lines, overhanging trees, debris etc?

Also ensure that:

  1. is the device clean and in good working order?
  2. have all electrical leads, generators etc been appropriately inspected and tagged?
  3. did you inspect the device prior to allowing patrons to use it? For example, this is to ensure it has no tears, trip obstacles, and has appropriate safety signage;
  4. has the device been properly secured? Also, have you been given instructions about what to do if the wind picks up. For example, BWE will provide you with a wind meter. Use this to personally monitor wind conditions on the day. For any hire, deflate the device if the wind reaches 30km/hour. Or use a Beaufort Scale – click this Beaufort Scale link.

Finally ensure that:

  1. the installer has completed an installation checklist (BWE use an online checklist)? Go through this checklist with the operator to ensure it has been completed.
  2. have safety barriers been set up, where applicable?
  3. are impact absorbing safety mats, that are at least 50mm thick, placed at entry and exit points?
  4. have sponsors been suitably recognised on or near the device;
  5. is an emergency exit plan in place?
  6. are device risk assessments readily provided if required?
  7. has appropriate insurance coverage been arranged if you are not using the amusement hire company staff to supervise the activity?
  8. the device is stored safely prior to pick up by the amusement hire company at the end of the event.

10 More Brilliant School Fete Stall Ideas

This Blog follows on from our previous Blog called Brilliant School Fete Stall ideas and tips you should try.  Read it in conjunction with this one.

Need ideas for your school fete or carnival? Choose from these crowd-pleasing activities, marketing strategies and ideas!

1 All Day Ride Tickets

This one ranks highly among the More Brilliant Fete Ideas category. We have seen this done at many school fetes with great success.

Promote the Fete at least a month before the Fete date, and sell advance “All Day Ride” tickets for say $25. This allows ticket holders to ride any fete activity without paying more on the day. For a small fee, Bubbling With Energy can supply wrist bands for the All Day Ticket riders. This will ensure you have some advance funds prior to the event, and also ensures people turn up on the day.

On Fete Day, people can purchase the All Day Ride ticket for a higher price of say, $30.

You will need to set up a Ticket Booth for the event. Set up your own or we can supply it. Note – pre sales also ensure shorter lines at the ticket booth on Fete Day.

2 Food Glorious Food

Food is a great way to extend your fund raising. We have carnival food available such as Fairy Floss, Sno Cones and even a Popcorn machine.

Depending on the demographic of your school population, you can get parents to make (for sale) non messy foods such as spring rolls, samosas, or fish cakes etc, or the traditional sausage on a roll. Sell cans of drinks to go with the food.

3 Donation Bucket

Roster volunteers to stand at the entrance/exits of the Fete with a donation bucket to collect extra gold coins.

4 Performers

Here’s another brilliant fete stall idea. Invite a local dance group(s) to perform at the event and maybe set up a stall to advertise their dance group. This ensures more parents and family members come along. It’s also great for your pre Fete advertising.

5 Inflatable and Obstacle Course Sponsors

Invite say, a local Fitness Club to sponsor an inflatable jumping castle or obstacle course. We can attach their velcro backed signage to the amusement device they are sponsoring. As an added bonus, you can offer that they can do a fitness demonstration at the event.

Do ensure that any sponsors are acknowledged in event publicity.

6 Local Community Groups

Invite the local Scouts or Guides, Surf Lifesaving, and St Johns Ambulance to set up Recruitment Stalls at the Fete. They can do demonstrations of their particular activities e.g the St Johns or Surf Lifesaving volunteers can demonstrate how to use a defibrillator. Maybe the Scouts and Guides can teach dads and mums how to do a truckies hitch (a brilliant knot for tying loose materials to the family trailer).

All these extra people add to the excitement and fund raising opportunities of the event.

7 Amaze with the Maze

This is another brilliant fete idea. During Halloween a local school set up our Inflatable Maze as a Halloween Maze. You can guess what scary scenes were depicted in the maze dead end zones (excuse the pun). Depending on your event theme, it could be set up as an Australiana Maze, a Christmas in July Maze, a Learning Maze etc. It’s only restricted by your schools imagination.

8 Sports Skills Arena

Also under the more brilliant fete ideas category is a Sports Skills Arena. Children in your school undoubtedly play soccer, rugby league, basketball or even golf. Check out these Sports Inflatables which test the skills and stamina of your budding world champion players.

For the older event visitors, charge them to rodeo ride the mechanical bull, or any of our other “Mechanical” devices. All of these rides can have sponsors signage featured on them.

9 Sydney Water Stall

Invite Sydney Water to set up a stall to promote better water usage such as 4 minute showers. Maybe they will provide free water bottles.

10 Lucky Dip

What would a Fete be without a Lucky Dip? If you don’t want to make up your own, companies like Blueberry Express can supply Lucky Dip prizes. Set a reasonable fee for a dip in the Lucky Dip. Ensure you have a few larger prizes in there e.g a movie pass, a meat tray sponsored by a local butcher, a bottle of wine sponsored by the local bottle shop.

The year is coming to an end and you have the job of Planning a Corporate Christmas party event for your colleagues, to celebrate the past year.

Bubbling With Energy have lots of experience in helping people plan memorable events at times like this. Here are some tips:

Decide the date and venue?

This will impact on what kind of activities you will have at the event. For example, you may be using a large room at the office, a conference venue, a park, a restaurant, or a local community hall and outdoor area.

What’s your budget?

This will also impact on the food, drinks and activities.

Decide a theme.

This adds to the excitement, the design, and the uniqueness of the event. It could be a pink (or other colour) party, a letter of the alphabet party, a true-blue Aussie casual dress or national costume event, a fundraiser for a charity or major disaster event, a Christmas Mask or Bad Christmas outfit party, a pool party, or a fun in the outdoors event. Who’s coming?

It may be staff only, or with their families, or you may be inviting valued clients to the event. Are there any with special food needs? The trick in planning and creating a memorable Corporate Christmas Party event is to match the activities at the event to the people who are coming. 1 THE INFLATABLE PUB

Don’t hire a Pub … set up your own! We can install a medium or large sized inflatable Pub in a community hall or outdoor area. You can decorate it with your company, theme or “Merry Christmas” etc signage velcroed to the structure.

Add to the adult excitement with a mechanical bull, mechanical can, or even a mechanical football. Some companies also hire the Human Wrecking Ball or Human Whack a Mole activities from our Party range to add to the excitement of the event.

2 INDOOR CHRISTMAS PARTY IDEAS

Have you thought about having an entertainment activity such as a temporary tattoo artist (yes, the tattoos wash off); a roaming clown or magician; Santa Claus; a set of 1980’s style arcade games; or Face Painters Fun (for kids and adults).

You can also hire a cash grabber machine. You may have seen the cash grabber machine on TV. A contestant stands in the centre of the machine and has a certain time in which to catch the “money” being fast blasted around them. Substitute “money” with 50 or so pieces of coloured paper. On 2 or 3 of them offer prizes such as Christmas cookies, chocolates, or a day off!

3 COMPANY CHRISTMAS PICNIC

When Planning a Corporate Christmas Party you may decide to have a company picnic. But how can you give it the Wow factor? Adult and child jumping castles, spectacular dry or water slides, and challenging obstacle courses can add to the fun of a company picnic. Depending on the size and budget of your event, a variety of activities can be set up in a picnic area to entertain your guests.

Set up a parade of Sports inflatables such as the soccer, basketball, football and golf shootouts; or the inflatable sports zone which comprises an inflatable indoor soccer arena with zones for volleyball, basketball and twister. Since 2009, we have become a large supplier of custom made inflatables. Our quality, supply time, friendly communication, and the ability to make great designs and show you the possible end product before its even finished makes us a preffered supplier.

Indoor/Outdoor/Large & Small Space

Whether you need the Jumping Castles, Jumping Castle Combo, Interactive Games (such as the Bungee Run, Gladiator Duel etc), for either indoor or outdoor purposes we can make it suit. We can also provide the largest and smallest infaltables available.

Durability

Here are just a few guidelines and assurances we practice that will ensure you are purchasing a quality product.

  • All games are stitched with double needle machines, with all seams hemmed where possible.
  • Heavy duty seams in all high impact areas.
  • Reinforced floor strips that can incorporate as many as 8 rows of stitching.
  • All covered games include an emergency exit.
  • All games have reliable hook and loop deflation flaps.

Fans Blowers

Currently we use a silver box style fan/blower with a 2HP motor for all our electrical powered inflatables. Easy to store or stack in a vehicle. It is very reliable. We also have blowers for pool inflatables and petrol powered fans for when electricity is unavailable. Warranty

Bubbling with Energy Entertainment Pty Limited as trustee for the BWE Entertainment trust (BWE) provides Buyer a limited repair and replacement warranty and agrees and warrants only that the products, will be fit for their intended purpose, merchantable, and without material defect in workmanship and materials for the period and types of product specified as follows:

All new inflatables are guaranteed to be free of defect for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase. Any defect resulting from negligence, improper usage or unusual wear and tear caused by excessive usage is excluded from BWEE warranty coverage.

The customer’s usage of any inflatable product on a hard surface base (any surface other than grass), without the use of a tarp shall constitute improper usage and any resulting damage or defect shall not be covered by BWEE warranty. Colours, artwork and design are subject to change without prior notice and will not be considered defects. Warranty repair work will be provided by Bubbling with Energy. BWE disclaims any responsibilities for modifications and repairs from an unauthorized repair plant. Shipping cost to and from BWEE repair facility is to be paid by the customer.

All other accessories have a thirty (30) day warranty from date of shipment. No warranty is provided on misters, soaker hoses and zippers.

All used inflatables and blowers are sold as is, with no warranty. Except as provided in the above agreement, BWEE makes no other warranties on its products.

Mickey Mouse Jumping Castle – the Mickey Fun Park Combo

This is our Mickey Mouse jumping castle. The Mickey Fun Park Jumping Castle Combo has been a huge hit since we introduced it as it is slightly smaller than the 5 in 1 range. However, this inflatable has great play value. Our C4 range of Disney jumping castles all have a jumping area, climbing ladder, slide and basketball hoop. The extra features make it a great option for kids up to the age of thirteen.

The C4 Combo Jumping castle range all have a slide that can be used wet or dry, which is great for those hot days.

Also, as you can see in the photos, this inflatable comes with a shower cover. The shower covers are custom made by Mae, our in house machinist. Mae takes pride in making sure you get the best shower cover. Many of our competitors only have a sheet over the top of each Jumping Castle Combo. However, we drop the covers down the sides to ensure that showery weather stays away. Generally, rain doesn’t fall straight down when there is wind and we have made sure our castles have the best shower covers on the market.

Our trusted delivery drivers can set up on grass or concrete with pegs or weights. Please advise which surface at time of booking so we know which to bring. Lastly, the inflatable can fit through an 85cm opening on its way to your backyard.

Since then our Jurassic World inflatable has been enormously popular. Luckily this giant inflatable doesn’t feature the unpredictable Indominus Rex like the movie. A Jurassic World inflatable hire is sure to make any event spectacular.

Our Jurassic themed inflatable requires 10m x 10m of area- just 2m less than Indominus Rex (12m length). If you are looking for an extremely large jumping castle with loads of extras, this is the ultimate play structure! Up to 20 children can play in the Jurassic Adventure at a time. This is our largest inflatable jumping castle for hire. However we don’t call it just a jumping castle. It’s definitely more of an adventure for hire.

Entering onto the Jurassic Adventure through the field of bones. You thengo to the jumping area, and on either side having the ”steg” or ”bronty” rockers. Then up the rock climbing wall to the very top. There you will be faced with the twin Jurassic Adventure slides. Give the kids the closest thing to playing in Jurassic World itself.
